Met at last outside the collapsing municipal building (ch. 23): a Tigran who wishes he had stayed human so God would recognise him, whose quest Carl ruined and whose family Carl avenged. 'Call me if you need me, and I will come.' Points the way to the second stairwell (ch. 25).
