Ifechi in book 4 — The Gate of the Feral Gods
A woman, as Katia sees at once; an African medic with a Red Cross bag who entered with soldiers, lost them to a jelly boss, found Florin, and killed with a staff that flung leeches. She casts a protection spell on Florin and a stranger and not herself, and Lucia Mar's Rubber spell on her head turns her lover's shotgun on her (ch. 4). The recap's tribute; Florin's 'ray of light' (ch. 33).
