Series arc

As of book 8. The caprid of the fourth-floor stairwell, orphaned in book 5, the strongest crawler in the dungeon in book 7; in book 8 first in every heat and the sole survivor of his, biological on Sweety the Perriso with Jurgen. He wants to feed his goat girlfriend a love biscuit and is given rules; he decodes the water park's trapdoor, the elemental counter and Chachi's Aztec analogue. His Apito memorial crystal, at 0%, shields everyone in a building from Scolopendra's attacks and charges on them, until Taranis pulls it off his neck. At his mother's piano in the L'Engle Building he wishes he had never taken the pet biscuit; Carl calls them a herd, and he offers a name: 'You can call me Pony'. He sings 'In the Air Tonight' at the judging stand, and it is beautiful. Open: the crystal, and the Epicure whose temple is his.

A memorial crystal for Apito, who is not dead B5 ch. 77 open · B8 ch. 98 — Apito's crystal is 0% charged and 'should not exist' (ch. 70); it protected a building from Scolopendra's attack and charged to 11.1% (ch. 82); Taranis pulled it off Prepotente's neck.
The Memorial Crystal in Prepotente's hands, and the Epicure B7 ch. 78 open · B8 ch. 98 — The crystal charged on Scolopendra's attacks and shielded whoever held it; Taranis pulled it off Prepotente's neck, and Prepotente says he has filed a formal complaint with the Epicure.
Scolopendra's nine attacks, two fired and seven waiting B8 ch. 81 open — Transformation and Consumption fired; Apito's crystal shielded a building and charged on them until Taranis stole it (B8 ch. 82, B8 ch. 98). Kill her or abandon her and the rest fire at once; she is now a level-1 crawler in Carl's party (B8 ch. 98). Sydnee Iglacia names the old attacks: Control, A Parade of Horribles, This Inevitable Ruin, Bedlam (B8 ch. 99).
The hammer and the stick: a seven, and a Book of Lore B5 ch. 63 resolved · B6 ch. 38 — The Book of Lore for the Bahamas answered: the eighth floor's four starting choices included the Bahamas and Florida, and Rosetta's Miami message steered them to the Keys and a homeless shelter, not the Bahamas. The seven stamped on the hammer and the stick is not explained here.

Prepotente in book 3 — The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook

Number two after Hekla's death (ch. 25) and 'they hardly ever show that goat thing.' Met through a hole in a floor: a nasal British voice, screams without cause, two hours from putting a province boss into cardiac arrest before Carl portaled it away, an offer to crunch Imani's bones, a genuine wish to share a brandy with Donut — 'the only two remaining Earth creatures in the dungeon who have gained true sapience' (ch. 32). Miriam Dom hits him with her crook and he apologises. 'I'm sorry I wanted to murder you.'

Prepotente in book 4 — The Gate of the Feral Gods

Third on the board: stacks debuffs on a province boss until Quan Ch wakes it (ch. 4); rolls a cave shelf under a spider nest and puts the spiders to sleep so they fall (ch. 17); has a panic attack and runs off, which gets Miriam cursed (ch. 20); loses his mind when her Vanquisher membership is revoked and loosed the hellspawn goat on the lounge, earning a Holy Crusade Bounty (ch. 25); kills a level-150 turkey god for eight levels, to 55, the highest in the dungeon, and is shown gnawing the feather (ch. 33). Maggie's 'caprid' in a rest area, Carl decides, must be another creature (ch. 34).

Prepotente in book 5 — The Butcher's Masquerade
Pony

Level 55, Profane Vitiate, a satanic-goat tattoo, crying when called Pony (ch. 6), and suddenly Carl's best friend (ch. 7): the caprid whose mother is a vampire and whose family goat is a hellspawn. He names a town Number Four and loses it to a dinosaur (ch. 39). He kills an elite and is paralysed by his own class (ch. 44), Frozen and Fragile in a clearing, a second Ring of Divine Suffering on his hand, marked on his own mother, watching everything while she asks to be killed and dies in the sun on his shoulder (ch. 47). He wakes, eats his ring, screams silently (ch. 48), and vows (ch. 49).

The smart boy

Sponsored by the Plenty (ch. 43), level 70 by the party (ch. 57), he buys Seventh Floor Pole Position with thirty of his thirty-three hands without asking what it is (ch. 69), asks to join the party because he has been collecting clues (ch. 67), and smashes a potion into a blinded queen's face for the killing blow (ch. 76, ch. 77). Party leader for a day in exchange for a saferoom zap (ch. 75). In the epilogue he explains a floor from a talk show and his mother's boots, taps a stick with a hammer — 'You're a good boy, my sweet little Pony' — and the seventh floor explodes to dust (epilogue). He wants a memorial crystal for a goddess who is not supposed to be dead.

Prepotente in book 6 — The Eye of the Bedlam Bride

Alone with Bianca in the Bahamas, wanting the Bahamas book read to him and correcting the typos (ch. 20, ch. 22); puts four squads to sleep for the floor (ch. 52); co-author of the plan to be sucked into hell, at a confidence he revises from fifty to thirty-five per cent in front of everyone (ch. 62); warns Carl that Indonesia is the antipode (ch. 64). 'I've decided to not kill you for letting my mother hurt herself […] too stupid to have done anything about it' (ch. 64).

Prepotente in book 7 — This Inevitable Ruin

He wakes Milk on the fifth floor with his mother and burns her guild's linen (ch. 26); he reports trebuchets from the naga border with a score to settle against Blood Hunter's producer (ch. 18); and, level 99, he kills the naga standing army himself before a kangaroo court jails him for threatening a quorum, and returns to find the Posse 'pitifully and limply' doing his work: 'SHE WAS MY MOTHER […] I SPIT IN YOUR EYE!' (ch. 45). He is recruited as a colonel, sobs that Carl is his best friend and he has been so lonely, and screams in his face (ch. 48). He carries a perfect-recall map of Club Vanquisher, drinks Big Red five a day by his mother's rule (ch. 50), mutters names ending in 'Ragazzaccia' (ch. 52), and is ejected from a temple as tested (ch. 54). He shields Carl from mind magic and vanishes into a god's pile (ch. 64, ch. 65); drinks more vials than his allotment; holds the Memorial Crystal without a fight, which Emberus says he means to give to the Epicure (ch. 78); hugs Carl smelling of root beer (ch. 78); and enters the stairwell with 'I love you' (ch. 86).

Prepotente in book 8 — A Parade of Horribles

First in every heat and sole survivor of his (ch. 33, ch. 67); biological, on Sweety the Perriso with Jurgen (ch. 14), until Sweety dies in Scolopendra's second attack (ch. 95). He wants to feed his goat girlfriend the Paramour biscuit and is given rules (ch. 16); he decodes the water park's trapdoor (ch. 49), the elemental counter (ch. 65) and Chachi's Aztec analogue (ch. 53); his Apito memorial crystal, 0% charged, shields everyone in a building from Scolopendra's attacks and charges on them (ch. 70, ch. 82) until Taranis steals it (ch. 98). At his mother's piano in the L'Engle Building — a concert pianist who never had him — 'I wish I’d never taken the pet biscuit'; Carl calls them a herd, and he offers a name: 'You can call me Pony' (ch. 77). He sings 'In the Air Tonight' at the judging stand to Sweety's stamping feet, and it is beautiful (ch. 92).
